Better photos, faster sales
Daylight, a neutral background and at least four photos from different angles — including a photo of every flaw.
Photos decide whether someone clicks through. A few rules get you most of the way:
- Daylight, no flash. Next to a window on an overcast day is ideal.
- Neutral, tidy background. A plain wall, a table or the floor.
- At least four photos: front, back, a close-up of the material or brand label, and the size or model marking.
- Photograph every flaw. A stain or scratch that is visible in the photo almost never leads to a complaint; one you hide almost always does.
- Show scale by putting something familiar next to it if the size is not obvious.
- No filters or text over the photo. Buyers want to see what they get.
The first photo is your shop window: pick the one that shows the item most clearly and most honestly. You can always change the order later when editing.
