Terms of service

Last updated: 17 September 2026

These terms apply to any use of reebee. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The platform is an intermediary

reebee is an online marketplace for second-hand items. The sales contract is concluded between buyer and seller; reebee is not a party to it, but provides the surrounding services: secure payment (escrow), buyer protection, shipping and dispute mediation.

Payments run through a licensed payment provider. The purchase amount is held in escrow until delivery or pickup is confirmed, or until the dispute window expires.

2. Account, termination and blocking

You are at least 18 or have permission from your legal guardian. You register with a correct email address, keep your password secret and are responsible for what happens with your account. One person = one account.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile; your listings then disappear from the platform. We may block an account temporarily or permanently for serious or repeated breaches of these terms or the law. We tell you the reason and you can appeal. On a block, your active listings are taken offline; anyone permanently blocked does not create a new account.

3. Selling

Selling is free for private individuals. Describe your item honestly and completely, use your own photos of the actual item and mention defects. To sell you verify your mobile number; above a price threshold, for shops or on a documented fraud signal the platform may also require identity verification (via itsme, a recognised verification service or a document reviewed by a staff member).

Prohibited: counterfeits, stolen goods, weapons, illegal or recalled products, and anything whose sale is legally restricted. We may refuse or remove listings and suspend accounts (strike system with appeal). If we remove something, we tell you why so you can appeal.

Professional sellers (with or without a physical shop) sell against a platform commission and must identify themselves as professional; see the section on professional sellers.

Ranking: sellers who meet the publicly documented criteria (see the “Top seller” page) automatically receive that status, including a higher position in seller search results. Ranking takes this status and promotion via Bump and Spotlight (paid or granted as a reward, always clearly labelled) into account. Statuses are recalculated periodically and can therefore lapse.

4. Your content and the rights you grant us

You remain the owner of your photos and texts. To be able to show your listing, you grant reebee a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, resize or crop that content and use it wherever your listing appears: search results, category pages, a share preview on social media and alerts to interested members. That licence runs for as long as your listing is online and only to operate and promote the platform.

If you delete a listing or your account, we stop that use. Copies may linger briefly in backups and in search-engine caches — over the latter we have no direct control.

You warrant that you hold the rights to what you post: your own photos of the actual item, no images or text belonging to someone else, and nothing that infringes third-party rights.

Optional AI help: if you use the fill-in assistance (photo recognition, title/description, price suggestion), we send the photos and texts concerned to the AI provider we have configured in order to generate that suggestion. We do not sell your content and do not make it available for training AI models.

5. Use of the platform

The platform itself — the name reebee, the logo, the design, the texts and the software — belongs to us or our licensors. You get the right to use the platform for what it is intended for, nothing more.

Not permitted: automated data collection (scraping, bots, crawlers — other than the usual search engines), copying or reusing listings or user data outside the platform, artificially influencing search results or statistics, circumventing security or technical limitations, and using multiple accounts to evade rules or a block.

Other users' contact details may only be used to communicate about a specific listing — never for advertising or unsolicited messages.

6. Buying, fees and payment

On top of the item price, buyers pay a buyer-protection fee and any shipping costs. All costs are shown transparently before payment.

After payment the amount is held in escrow. The seller is only paid out after confirmed delivery or pickup, or after the dispute window expires.

Payouts. Once an order is completed, the amount is credited to your balance. Payouts happen once a month, on day 1 of the month, provided your balance is at least €25.00. If you do not reach that threshold, your balance stays and rolls over to the next month. Regardless of the threshold, we pay out a balance within 90 days of it being built up.

Getting paid earlier. You can request a payout yourself once your balance is at least €10.00. We charge €1.00 for this, deducted from the amount paid out; you see the exact amount before you confirm. For Premium members and Top sellers a payout on request is free.

Why a threshold. Every payout costs us money at the payment provider, even for small amounts. Bundling them is what keeps selling on reebee free. The amounts above may change; a change applies from the announced date and never retroactively to a balance already built up.

7. Shipping and pickup

For shipping, the seller creates the label via the platform; tracking drives the order status. The seller appears as sender and return address on the label and drops the parcel off at a bpost point; a parcel that is not collected or cannot be delivered returns to the seller — the buyer is then refunded the item price, not the shipping cost or buyer protection. For local pickup, the buyer books a slot and confirms the pickup on the order page; until then the money stays in escrow.

Loss guarantee: if a parcel shipped with a platform label and tracking is demonstrably lost (the carrier confirms the loss), the buyer is fully refunded and the platform does not leave the seller who demonstrably shipped out in the cold — coverage runs through the insurance pot. The guarantee does not apply to shipments arranged outside the platform.

If a paid item is not picked up within the pickup window, the seller may cancel the order; the buyer is refunded except for the service fee.

Shipping weight: the shipping price is calculated on the weight stated in the listing, including packaging. The carrier re-weighs every parcel. If the parcel weighs more than the weight the seller entered themselves, the carrier charges the difference and that amount is settled against the seller's payout; the seller receives a reasoned notice and can object through the help desk. If the seller left the platform's estimate untouched, the platform bears the difference. Small deviations (up to € 0.50) and costs that do not stem from the weight are borne by the platform.

Because a weight correction only arrives after delivery, the payout for a shipped order may wait for the carrier's final invoice — at most seven days after shipping. After that the payout happens regardless.

8. Disputes and buyer protection

If the item does not arrive or differs significantly from the description, open a dispute on the order page within the dispute window. The seller payout is then frozen.

Every decision is explainable: it states which rule was decisive. Possible outcomes: refund, refund after return (return label paid by the party at fault or the insurance pool), or the seller prevails.

9. Cancellation

Cancellation is possible as long as the item has not shipped. After payment, a cancellation fee (covering payment-provider costs) may be withheld from the refund of the cancelling party, according to the platform settings in force.

If a seller cancels a paid order because the item is not (or no longer) available, or fails to ship within the deadline, this counts as not honouring their listing. For a private seller, the platform then automatically places a one-star review on their profile, marked as an automatic review. For a professional seller who accepted the availability guarantee, the sunk transaction costs (payment-provider costs and any fixed handling fee) are charged on their periodic invoice. The same applies when a seller replies to a buyer that an item still online is no longer available. The seller is informed each time with the reason and can object via the help desk; the platform may remove an automatic review after review.

10. Reviews

After a completed order — or an order refunded following a closed dispute — buyer and seller may review each other once (1 to 5 stars with an optional comment), within the period stated on the platform. Reviews are therefore always tied to a genuine transaction paid through the platform; the platform verifies this automatically and says so next to the reviews. A review is final and public; the reviewed party may reply to it publicly once.

A review is about the transaction and must not contain third parties' personal data, contact details, insults, discriminatory or threatening statements, or content unrelated to the transaction. Any logged-in user may report a review; after examination the platform may hide it. The author is informed with reasons and may object via the help desk; the reporter is informed of the outcome. The platform may attach a small reward to posting a review (for example a free promotion or credit); that reward never depends on the star rating or the content.

11. Professional sellers (B2C)

When you buy from a professional seller, statutory consumer rights apply: a 14-day right of withdrawal and a 2-year legal guarantee. The platform shows whether a seller is private or professional.

Professional sellers are themselves responsible for their legal obligations (guarantee, conformity, product safety) and verify their business details before selling.

Professional sellers guarantee that every listing they publish is actually available (availability guarantee). Buyers therefore check out with them without a confirmation step. If a professional seller fails to honour that guarantee, the sunk transaction costs are charged on their periodic invoice (see Cancellation).

12. Tax reporting (DAC7)

As an EU platform we are legally required to report seller data to the tax authorities once you reach 30 sales or more than €2,000 in a calendar year. We will then request additional details (national registry or VAT number).

13. Liability

reebee provides the marketplace and services as described, but is not a party to the sale and not liable for the items themselves. Our liability is in any case limited to the amount of the transaction concerned, except in case of intent or gross negligence.

14. Changes, governing law and dispute resolution

We may change these terms. Significant changes are announced at least 15 days in advance on the site or by email; if you disagree, you can close your account during that period. Changes required by law or fixing a security issue may take effect sooner. Belgian law applies.

Consumers can turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (consumentenombudsdienst.be). For a cross-border dispute within the EU, the European Consumer Centre Belgium (eccbelgium.be) can help. The European ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and no longer exists.

Reports of illegal content are handled under the Digital Services Act — use the report button on a listing or the contact form. Our electronic point of contact for users as well as for authorities and the European Commission (DSA art. 11 and 12) is info@reebee.be; messages in Dutch, French or English are handled.

Product safety (Regulation (EU) 2023/988): report an unsafe product or a recall through the report button using the reason “unsafe product or recall”, or through that same point of contact. We take the listing offline, block it from being posted again, and notify anyone who bought the item through reebee in the past six months.
