Trading safely: what to watch for
Keep payment and communication on the platform, and judge a seller by their reviews and the quality of their listings.
The golden rule
Always pay and communicate within reebee. The moment you move to WhatsApp, email or a bank transfer, you lose all protection and we can no longer do anything for you.
What to look at in a seller
- Reviews from earlier buyers.
- Complete listings: own photos, clear description, flaws mentioned.
- Concrete answers in the conversation that actually address your question.
Warning signs
- Pushing to pay or chat off-platform.
- A price that is far too good for the product.
- Asking for a deposit, or payment by gift card, crypto or "friends and family".
- Only photos found online and a description full of generalities.
- Creating urgency: "three other people are interested".
When meeting up
Meet in a public place, preferably not alone, and inspect the item before you confirm. Not comfortable? Then the sale simply does not happen — that is always your right.
